Janice Snapp Fine Art

I've been exploring spatial and color relationships in my paintings for most of my life.

My paintings are influenced by the things I see, read, hear, and feel,  filtered through my subconscious. A passage from the Baha’i writings states that we should become hollow reeds “from which the pith of self has been blown. This opening-up is perhaps the most important part of my creative process.

Painting, for me, involves being open to everything around me, and allowing it all in until it finally comes out on canvas. The result is sometimes a surprise, since my paintings take on a life of their own during their creation—sometimes early in the process, sometimes later. After that point, it only remains for me to finish them.
